Had an amazing experience with the Washington DC Overhead Door! Unfortunately, one of my garage door tension springs broke. I wanted to call in a professional to replace it since it can be a dangerous repair to do it yourself if you don't know what you are doing. I called Overhead Door and they were able to quickly schedule a technician to come out the next day! However, the technician arrived about 1 hour and 20 minutes late (after the scheduled 4-hour appointment window). I am assuming he may have been assigned too many jobs that day. Regardless, he quickly did the repair and was on his way. After closer inspection of the repair job, I noticed that the tension springs that were installed were heavily rusted... I thought the technician may have "rushed" the job and installed defective or previously used springs accidentally. My online research confirmed that brand new garage door springs should not be rusting on day one as that is what leads to spring failure. I quickly called Overhead Door to explain the situation and the receptionist informed me that they do not install used springs. They scheduled another technician to come out the next day to inspect the rusty springs and investigate what happened. The second technician that came out was Mike Nee. He quickly and efficiently inspected the springs and determined that he would replace them for me due to the significant amount of rust on the springs. Mike was extremely professional, friendly, and committed to doing the job right and providing superior customer service. He was also extremely thorough and did not rush the job like the previous technician. He was knowledgeable in all aspects of the Overhead Door product lines and educated me on general garage door maintenance recommendations. I was very amazed by Mike and how he handled the situation. As a homeowner, I deal with a lot of service technicians and generally you get technicians that just want to rush things to tackle as many jobs as possible without regard to having the job done right. Of course, I never recommend these companies to friends or family. I am also not a repeat customer when I receive this type of service. I can do a sloppy job or do home repairs incorrectly myself. Why would I hire and pay a business to do the job wrong? Rarely do you ever get technicians that take pride in their work, doing things right, and representing their employers’ true value and commitment to excellence. Well, Mike Nee is that rare diamond in the rough! He exhibits tremendous customer service skills and the ability to efficiently get the job done right. I believe the founders of the Overhead Door began and grew this company with the same commitment to excellence and service as Mike Nee. He is a model employee for your company and willing to go the extra mile to ensure company growth. He should be training other technicians on how to provide excellent service. This company was built on doing things right and not rushing jobs. As a future repeat customer, I know I will be requesting Mike Nee as my technician to ensure the job is done right the first time and that no call back is needed. I cannot speak much about any other technicians at this location besides Mike. If you are reading this as a potential customer, please feel confident to call and request Mike Nee as your technician! He’ll ensure the job is done right the first time and you can be confident that no corners were cut! I cannot say enough about this technician! He is an amazing representative of this company. I strongly recommend this Overhead Door and him to all family, friend, and potential customers reading this review!
